The Maltese Ministry of Health has chosen Santa Lucia Pharma Apps for the management and traceability of medicines and medical devices of the country’s main public hospitals for the next 15 years.
Santa Lucia Pharma Apps is the leading member of a consortium which has been awarded a 15 years contract to deliver a closed loop management system for medicines and medical devices for the main public hospitals of the Republic of Malta.
The contract, signed on 15th of October and now entering the operational phase, provides for the implementation of automated systems and innovative services to secure and streamline the logistic processes within the hospital. Aim of the project is to ensure the patients and the health professionals with the higher level of safety and quality and to help the Government to have the cost under control.
During the press conference held on November 15th to officially announce the project, the Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne evidenced the benefits of the project that, among other aspects, improve patient safety and reduce errors.
